| After finish logging the forest near the streams, the railroad was build into the
forest far away from the streams. The main purpose of the building railroad was to get the timber
out of Michigan's forest.

| Logging was the first statewide economic activity in Michigan. The land was sold and bought
only based on the timber value, after the forest was clearcut, nothing was being done to the land,
then the land was either abandoned or resold
cheaply to the farmers who followed the loggers into the area.

| After the logging of the white pine in Michigan, the states started to have
other economic activities such as farming, mining and manufacturing.
But the wound of the logging history of the white pine can still be see in some remote places.
