Tahquamenon Falls State Park contains nearly 40,000
acres of woodlands. For hikers there are more than 25 miles of wilderness
trails. Other opportunities include fishing, canoeing, or camping
at one of four campgrounds at the Lower Falls area. Tahquamenon Falls
is also home to a wide variety of wildlife, including moose, black bears,
and bald eagles.
The highlight of the park are the waterfalls of the
Tahquamenon River. The Upper Falls is one of the largest waterfalls
east of the Mississippi. The falls have a drop of almost 50 feet
and a width of more than 200 feet
