Isle Royale
National Park

     Isle Royale National Park covers 850 square miles, and contains over 165 miles of hiking trails and 36 campgrounds.  Also, there are plenty of opportunities for fishing and viewing a wide range of wildlife.  Isle Royale also contains lighthouses, shipwrecks, and old copper mining sites.

    Isle Royale is primarily wilderness and is designated an International Biosphere Reserve.  Access to Isle Royale is limited to seaplane, ferry, or small craft launches.  The area is filled with hiking trails, with several small lakes and islands to explore.

    A wide variety of flora can be found here, including several endangered plant species.  Wildlife is also abundant on Isle Royale.  Timber Wolves are rare, but can be found on Isle Royale.  Mink, Red Fox, and River Otters can also be seen.  In particular, moose are plentiful throughout the region.
