Another attraction is the Hartwick Pines Lumbering Museum.  The museum contains exhibits featuring the 19th century Michigan lumbering opertations.  At that time, Michigan led the nation production of sawed lumber.  The Visitor's Center, replicas of lumber-camp buildings, and outdoor exhibits tell the story of Michigan's lumbering history.
