BRUTUS ISLAND

Within Glacial Lake Algonquin, and its successors, were a number of large islands.   These high morainic masses stood above the lake, and today show prominant shorelines along their bases.  The images below show portions of Brutus Island (in the background), a large island group in Emmet County.
