THE AU SABLE RIVER The Au Sable River is one of Michigan's premier fly fishing streams. It runs clear and cold all year round. Because much of the water enters the stream as groundwater discharge, the water remains free of sediment, and is quite cold, even in summer. Additionally, flow rates are steady, lacking high and low flow periods. This material has been compiled for educational use only, and may not be reproduced without permission.
