HURON MOUNTAINS The Peshekee Highlands have thin soils over hard, crystalline bedrock. Past
glaciers have scraped this landscape "clean", leaving little drift behind for
the soils to form in. Thus, areas of bare rock are commonplace. This material has been compiled for educational use only, and
