GLACIAL LAKES CHICAGO, SAGINAW AND MAUMEE![]() Glacial lake plains tend to be flat, almost featureless plains. The flatness is due to wave-beveling of the preexisting landscape, and infilling of low spots by lake sediments such as clay. The image below is of the Lake Saginaw plain near Saginaw. ![]()
